CSV to JSON Converter
This tool converts a small CSV text table into an array of JSON objects using the first row as field names.
Convert a simple CSV table into JSON records
Paste a comma-separated table with a header row. Quoted commas and escaped quotes are supported.
Processing mode: browser-only for this tool. The interface does not require a server upload to perform its transformation.
Start with a focused browser tool
This tool converts a small CSV text table into an array of JSON objects using the first row as field names.
Designed for: Developers and analysts moving small tabular fixtures between spreadsheets and APIs.
How to use this tool
Paste a CSV document with a header row. The converter parses quoted fields, escaped double quotes, line breaks, and commas inside quoted values. The first row becomes object keys.
How the result is produced
The browser uses a character-by-character CSV parser rather than splitting every line on commas. That distinction matters when a valid field contains a comma or a quoted line break.
Test examples
name, role followed by Ada,editor becomes [{"name":"Ada","role":"editor"}]. A value such as "Paris, France" remains one field because the comma is inside quotes.
Limitations
The converter treats values as strings and does not infer numbers, dates, formulas, or schema types. It is intended for small text fixtures, not large data imports or production ETL jobs.
Privacy and processing
The CSV is parsed in the browser and is not uploaded. Avoid pasting confidential records into any public website regardless of the processing mode.
