Editorial Policy

Our Promise To Readers
Everything published on Nofyi.com — tool descriptions, how-to guides, FAQs, comparisons, and blog posts — is created to genuinely help our readers. We believe useful, accurate, original content is the foundation of a trustworthy website, and we hold ourselves to clear editorial standards to make sure we deliver on that promise.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently of our advertising and partnership relationships. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over which tools we build, which topics we cover, or how we rank or review products. Sponsored content, if ever published, is clearly labelled as such.
How We Research
- We use the tools we write about, on real files, before publishing instructions or comparisons.
- We cite primary sources (official specifications, vendor documentation, peer-reviewed research) wherever possible.
- Statistics are checked against the original publishing organisation, not aggregator sites, and the date of publication is noted.
- For technical content we test code samples in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
Authorship
All content is written by humans on our editorial team. We may use AI-assisted tools for grammar, spell-checking, and idea generation, but every paragraph is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by a human before publication. We never publish unreviewed machine-generated text.
Corrections Policy
If we get something wrong, we fix it. When a correction is material (incorrect statistic, broken instruction, outdated screenshot) we update the article and add a dated correction note at the bottom of the page. Minor fixes (typos, formatting) are made silently. To report a correction, email itsnofyi@gmail.com.
Updates & Freshness
Every tool page is reviewed at least once every twelve months. Pages covering rapidly-changing topics (browsers, ad platforms, AI models, file standards) are reviewed more frequently. The “Last updated” date is shown on every legal page and at the top of long-form guides.
Sources & Attribution
When we reference third-party data, we link to the original source. When we embed or build on open-source libraries, the underlying licence is acknowledged in our credits. Direct quotations of three sentences or more are always attributed and linked.
Conflicts Of Interest
Writers must disclose any personal or financial interest in a product before being assigned a review or comparison. Affiliate relationships, if any, are disclosed in the relevant article and on our Disclaimer page.
User Feedback
Reader feedback is the single most valuable input to our content roadmap. If a guide is unclear, a tool is missing a feature, or a comparison is out of date, please tell us at itsnofyi@gmail.com. We read every message.
Accessibility
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA for all published pages — proper heading hierarchy, keyboard-accessible tools, sufficient colour contrast, descriptive alt text, and readable line lengths. Accessibility issues are treated as bugs and prioritised accordingly.
